  President: Dermot Manning BL

Born in Dublin and educated at De La Salle College, Churchtown, Dermot attended University College Dublin and graduated with a BCL degree in 1989. He received the Diploma in Business Studies at the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business in 1990. He attended the Kings Inns and was called to the Bar in 1992 and has practiced since then on the Dublin and Eastern Circuits with a varied civil and common law practice. He was called to the Bar of Northern Ireland in 1999. He is the Assistant Editor of the Irish Reports and serves a chairperson at Mental Health Tribunals. Dermot served as Hon. Treasurer of Medico-Legal Society for eight years before his election as President in June 2009.

Immediate Past President Dr. Antonia Lehane

Dr. Antonia Lehane graduated from the medical school of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, then received post graduate vocational training in general practice and achieved membership of both the Royal College of General Practitioners and the Irish College of General Practitioners. She is a principal in general practice in Swords, Co. Dublin since 1989 and was attached to the Rotunda Hospital Sexual Assault Treatment Unit for 17 years. She completed the DMJ course of the Forensic Medical Service, London Metropolitan Police and obtained the Diploma in Medical Jurisprudence (Clinical) in 2005. She was elected a Foundation Member of the Faculty of Forensic & Legal Medicine, Royal College of Physicians, London in 2006. She regularly lectures both undergraduate and postgraduate students on medico-legal and clinical forensic topics and has represented the Irish Medical Organisation on departmental review committees.

Hon Secretary Dr Mary Davin-Power MB BCH BAO LRCP&SI  MRCGP

Dr Mary Davin-Power qualified in Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1982. She specialised in General Medical Practice and was a Principal in an NHS Primary Care Centre in Berkshire, UK before returning to live in County Clare where she spent 15 years in General Practice. A large part of her practice involved medico-legal work of both criminal and civil cases, working closely with local solicitors and Gardai, thus sparking her interest in the subject. She now lives in Dublin where she practices in Student Healthcare in TCD and is also a CME (Continuing Medical Education) tutor for GPs in North Dublin, under the auspices of the Irish College of General Practitioners. She is presently in the latter stages of a Masters degree in Medical Education.

Hon Treasurer Ms. Dolores Keane BL. Dolores

Ms. Dolores Keane BL. Dolores attended University College Dublin graduating with a BA in Economics and Politics and later an MSc (Econ) in  European Affairs.  She also studied at Marquette University, Milwaukee, USA. She attended the Kings Inns and was called to the Bar in 2000. Her legal practice interests include medical and commercial law. Dolores developed the Continuing Professional Development programme at the Kings Inns and has lectured on the Degree Course. She is on the Board of the Law Library Credit Union and is an examiner for the Institute Of Bankers
